THE EXHIBIT CAN BE DISPLAYED AT CHURCHES AND EVENTS AROUND THE COMMUNITY, HIGHLIGHTING THE REAL STORIES OF A FORMER FOSTER YOUTH, ADOPTED CHILD, ADOPTIVE FAMILY AND FOSTER PARENT.

STORIES UNTOLD CAN CHANGE THE CONVERSATION IN OUR CITY ABOUT FOSTER CARE, AND HELP MOBILIZE THE COMMUNITY TO ACTION.

BY PROMOTING POSITIVE STORIES OF FOSTER CARE & ADOPTION, CONFRONTING COMMON MYTHS THAT PREVENT PEOPLE FROM TAKING ACTION AND CREATING EASY ON RAMPS FOR PEOPLE TO GET INVOLVED, STORIES UNTOLD COULD BE THE BEGINNING OF SOMEONE’S JOURNEY TO BECOMING AN ADVOCATE, MENTOR, FOSTER OR ADOPTIVE PARENT.”

Have you ever wondered where you can find answers to your most basic fostering and adoption questions

online? Exploring Foster Care and Adoption course was designed for people in the beginning stages of seeking out general information on these topics, or desiring further knowledge digitally.

 

If you are considering fostering or adopting we would stronglyencourage you to attend our next 101 workshop. However, if you are unable to attend and have questions about the process we may be able to meet with you or talk over the phone.

This workshop does more than just inspire and inform; it will also provide you with easy opportunities to take next steps towards orphan care, fostering & adoption.

By the end of the workshop, each participant will:

• Be given a free workbook full of additional information and resources to explore after the workshop.
• Have an opportunity to ask questions to a panel of current foster/adoptive parents, social workers, and mental health care professionals.
• Have time to visit booths with representatives from the county & foster family agencies to answer further questions.
