Guest Advocate Johnston Moore from Home Forever in Los Angeles will be joining CWO on April 29th for a night of empowering caregivers to advocate for their children in foster care. Johnston is well respected within California's child welfare and faith-based communities for his work equipping foster/adoptive parents to advocate for what is the best interest for their children.
City Without Orphans sees a huge need for caregivers to know their rights, how to seek support outside of Fresno’s Juvenile Court System, and how to seek further guidance when facing challenges.
Some of the subjects that will be discussed are:
· The chain of command in Fresno County
· How to use your voice to advocate
· DeFacto Parent Status
· Q&A time for caregivers to ask specific questions
This is a free training event and dinner is provided. Child care is available upon request. The cost is $10 a family and you can secure a spot by email firstname.lastname@example.org with the names and ages of all children.
